Confident Hope

March 22, 2019 by UnitedHouse Leave a Comment

As I have been doing life lately, I have found it very overwhelming. Circumstances have left me feeling saturated with fear, worry, and anxiety. I have been in a spiritual attack, and it has been making me focus on what satan might do next, instead of what move God is going to make next.

I am not one who wants to give satan too much credit, but it seems like he has been trying to silence me. Why would he want to silence me? Because God has given me a word to share and spread to His children this year! What is that word? FREEDOM!

What has satan done to try and silence me? He is using my daughter and her health as a spiritual attack against me. Our women’s ministry has had 2 events scheduled for 2019 so far.  Each event that we have had, he has attacked my daughter to try and get to me.

The first event was Journal & Coffee Night. As soon as we walked into the church for the event, my daughter’s OmniPod, which controls all of her insulin and tests her blood sugar for her Type 1 Diabetes, stopped working. No matter what we did, we could not get it to work, and we ended up leaving early. The second event was Wild & Free Women’s Worship Night, which led to us postponing a worship night for the first time in 7 years. What happened? My daughter ended up being admitted into Nationwide Children’s Hospital for 4 days and 3 nights. She had Influenza A and double pneumonia along with other complications from her Type 1 Diabetes.

All of these events stopped me in my tracks for a little while. It took the breath right out of me. I was allowing my focus to be changed, which was changing me. I was having problems sleeping because fear was filling me. When my head would hit the pillow at night, all I could do was relive the events that took place with my daughter. Because of that, instead of looking for the things that God was doing around me, I began looking for what satan’s next scheme could be.

Through this, I have realized that my focus has been all wrong! I cannot be focused on what satan’s next scheme MIGHT be! That will only fill me with even more fear, worry, and anxiety. I have to intently focus on TRUTH! What is this truth? GOD’S WORD! I love this scripture, it is such a great reminder:

So then, with this amazing hope living in us, we step out in freedom and boldness to speak the truth.

2 Corinthians 3:12 TPT

Friends, when times get tough and life gets hard, we have to cling to our confident hope. The Holy Spirit resides in us! That alone gives us freedom from fear, worry, and anxiety. We need to activate this freedom. When satan wants us to believe lies, we need to shatter them. We need to speak truth in boldness!

I want to end with this scripture:

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 NLT

Just like the scriptures say, God is our source of hope. He is our amazing hope that lives in us! So, let’s radiate joy, overflow with peace, and go forth in confident hope. Step out and claim the freedom we have in Christ!

Testimonials

  • Taylor Phillips, author of Training Ground

United House Publishing was 100% an answer to prayer. I knew that God called me to write books, but I wasn't in a good position to publish according to certain industry expectations. I continued to be faithful, knowing God would make a way. AND HE DID. United House is such a champion for the underdog—for the one who doesn't have a huge platform but wants to be obedient to God. I was so blessed by the process from start to finish. From the heart and help of the revision team, to editing, coaching, and everything in between. United House was, and is, an incredible company to be part of!

United House Publishing is absolutely GREAT to work!  I previously published a book alone... and it was so hard.  But UHP gives support like no other!  When they say they are praying over you and your work, you KNOW it!  The author coaches I have worked with have been awesome.  Not only do they help you set and crush your writing goals, they also help you pursue wellness in all aspects of your life, and you can't put a price tag on that!

God gave me the words to write a book and then He sent me to the perfect place to publish it—United House Publishing! The thought of editing and publishing a book was new and overwhelming. However, through God's peace and directing me to UHP the whole process was made easier. I felt "safe" and "at ease" sharing the story God gave me to UHP, because they treated me and my manuscript with respect. I'm thankful I obeyed God and worked with UHP to publish my very first book.

As a person who has NEVER considered herself a writer, it is no shock I was in need of help when I felt led to publish my first book.  I am so blessed that I was referred to UHP.  I started my writing journey so afraid of the process, not sure where to start or what to expect. It was such a huge relief to have a team of authentic writers, editors, mentor me along the way as I pushed back fears of intimidation that tried to stop me.  With UHP I found my writing voice. The monthly coaching calls were especially important to keep me going when idleness or doubt crept in (because it will).  Having UHP to pray with me, refine my writing skills and keep me accountable made all the difference between beginning to write a book to actually finishing it!
