One Thing Remains

December 19, 2019 by UnitedHouse Leave a Comment

As the year comes to an end, I cannot avoid looking back on everything that I have been through these past few months. This year made me experience a full range of emotions; from joy to heartbreak, and everything in between. I spend the coldest summer in a hospital room, but also the warmest winter surrounded by the people I love; and I learned all seasons are equally important for growth. As the seasons changed, I learned that each period prepares us for the next one, and transitions mold us to be ready for our next mission.

The seasons come with changes which are never comfortable or easy. We must face new challenges, readapt to new circumstances, and make choices. We must face the challenges of a new job, the joy of a newborn child, the stress of finals, the happiness of love; all these shape us into who we are. Seasons bring out who we really are and transform us into who we ought to be. Seasons teach us to be patient, to aim higher, to become stronger, and they take us out of our comfort zone and help us to readjust our perspective.

As I look back, I also understand that seasons are temporary; they come and go. You become an expert at your new position, your child grows up, you graduate, and you move onto the next challenge. This time, you are different, you have been armed by the knowledge and experience that the previous season left you with. You are now stronger, wiser, and better prepared for the next season. You overcame winter and you are ready to bloom in spring. When I look back, I also notice that while seasons change, one thing remains, and that is the love of God. He is the only One that never left, never changed, and always remained present in all my seasons. The love of God has always been present and remains constant in my life and yours, no matter where we stand.

In the hills and in the valleys, He remains faithful. He lifts our arms when we feel defeated, He rejoices with us when get that promotion, He is present when we feel lonely and He gives us strength in the loss. As I look back, I see God in every season of my life. He was always there even when others left. He was there when I lost, and He was also there on my brighter days. Seasons change and nothing lasts forever, but one thing remains and that is the love of God for us. He walks with us through the good and the bad. Sometimes He even has to carry us. He is the one thing that never changes, the only constant in our lives. Today, I hope you can also look back and see everything you have been through, and I hope you find God in all the seasons. He has been there and will always be there for you.

Testimonials

  • Taylor Phillips, author of Training Ground

United House Publishing was 100% an answer to prayer. I knew that God called me to write books, but I wasn't in a good position to publish according to certain industry expectations. I continued to be faithful, knowing God would make a way. AND HE DID. United House is such a champion for the underdog—for the one who doesn't have a huge platform but wants to be obedient to God. I was so blessed by the process from start to finish. From the heart and help of the revision team, to editing, coaching, and everything in between. United House was, and is, an incredible company to be part of!

United House Publishing is absolutely GREAT to work!  I previously published a book alone... and it was so hard.  But UHP gives support like no other!  When they say they are praying over you and your work, you KNOW it!  The author coaches I have worked with have been awesome.  Not only do they help you set and crush your writing goals, they also help you pursue wellness in all aspects of your life, and you can't put a price tag on that!

  • Wendy Perry, author of The Battle Within

God gave me the words to write a book and then He sent me to the perfect place to publish it—United House Publishing! The thought of editing and publishing a book was new and overwhelming. However, through God's peace and directing me to UHP the whole process was made easier. I felt "safe" and "at ease" sharing the story God gave me to UHP, because they treated me and my manuscript with respect. I'm thankful I obeyed God and worked with UHP to publish my very first book.

  • Gina Rodriguez, author of Teacher Tired

As a person who has NEVER considered herself a writer, it is no shock I was in need of help when I felt led to publish my first book.  I am so blessed that I was referred to UHP.  I started my writing journey so afraid of the process, not sure where to start or what to expect. It was such a huge relief to have a team of authentic writers, editors, mentor me along the way as I pushed back fears of intimidation that tried to stop me.  With UHP I found my writing voice. The monthly coaching calls were especially important to keep me going when idleness or doubt crept in (because it will).  Having UHP to pray with me, refine my writing skills and keep me accountable made all the difference between beginning to write a book to actually finishing it!
