Christmas Thoughts

December 23, 2020 by UnitedHouse Leave a Comment

I just love this time of year. Cooler weather, Christmas music, lights, decorations, baking, family, shopping, wrapping presents; it is absolutely my favorite.

For some of us, Christmas may look a little different this year. If that’s the case for you, I truly am sorry and I hope you make the best of what you have. Don’t focus on the negative, adapt the best you can. FaceTime, Skype, etc to see your family if you can’t be together.

In all the hustle and bustle and preparing, I want to direct your attention to the Bible. I really pray that your desire is to see Jesus this Christmas season. While buying and wrapping presents, are you remembering the Gift we have been given in Jesus and are we sharing that Gift with others? Jesus being born truly is the greatest gift humankind has ever been given. I hope you’re offering that gift to others. After all, it is free.

When you are preparing a menu and shopping list, are you preparing your heart for Jesus? If you are already saved, are you intentionally inviting Him into your Christmas plans and preparations?

As you tell your children stories of Christmas past, will you include THE Christmas Story and share with them the virgin birth?

His presence should be our desire rather than the amount of presents under the tree. His presence will last far beyond the excitement of Christmas morning.

Let your mind get a glimpse of the Lord hanging on the cross to pay for your sins as you hang the stockings up.

We easily get caught up in our to do lists. There is much to be done. However, Jesus is the most important part of the Christmas season. I pray you won’t leave Him out. In your list making, make a list of blessings and just take time to praise the Lord for His goodness to you and your family.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 KJV “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21 KJV

This is why He came. For you and for me. To be our Redeemer. Praise Him for leaving Heaven for you. He is a personal Saviour. He wants a relationship with you. He is ready and waiting to Redeem you, friend. Just come to Him. Make this Christmas the year that you give your life to Jesus.
